  1.                          Menubar Program
  2.  
  3. This disk provides the basic information needed to utilize version
  4. 1.1 of the MENUBAR program to build toolbars within the Microsoft
  5. Windows environment. MENUBAR is a copyrighted product of MRL and
  6. all rights are reserved. Use of this version is allowed for
  7. evaluation only and continued usage requires that the user pay the
  8. registration fees as defined in the companion user manual file. MRL
  9. obligations and warranties are defined in the users manual.
  10. Registration can be accomplished by payment to MRL at 1200
  11. Stonehurst Drive, Huntsville, Alabama, 35801. The register.frm file
  12. provides registration information. Feedback is desireable and can
  13. be made via mail at the above address or via Compuserve electronic
  14. mail to MRL at user id [73637,737].

  16. The MENUBAR program allows users to tailor their Windows desktop
  17. by addition of toolbars that define icons/bitmaps to execute
  18. programs. Multiple executions of Menubar allow for nesting and
  19. display of varying levels of toolbars. This is the second release
  20. of MENUBAR and is designed for usage with Windows 3.1. Improvements
  21. in this version of MENUBAR include:
  22.  
  23.     -    Reduction of shareware reminder messages.
  24.  
  25.     -    Addition of Caption bar and text options.
  26.  
  27.     -    Scrolling on MENUBARs.
  28.  
  29.     -    Positioning on MENUBARs by dragging.
  30.  
  31.     -    Use of Windows 3.1 standard file open dialogues for
  32.           browsing.
  33.  
  34.     -    Addition of MENUBAR commands for execution of predefined
  35.           groups of programs or single execution-time program.
  36.  
  37.     -    Use of MENUBAR as Windows shell.
  38.  
  39. All registered users of version 1.0 will receive the update
  40. package. If you are a registered user and have not received this
  41. update (by May 25) please contact MRL. Any menubars created under
  42. version 1.0 should execute properly under 1.1.

  44. Quick start for experienced users:  
  45.   
  46.     1)    Unarchive files into program directory (e. g.,
  47.           C:\menubar) 
  48.   
  49.     2)    Run "c:\menubar\menubar c:\menubar\main". This command
  50.           may be added to a program manager group. An additional
  51.           sample menubars may be utilized by using the same
  52.           commands with test or test1. 
  53.  
  54.     3)    It is recommended that you minimize program manager when
  55.           running MENUBAR. 
  56.  
  57.     4)    See Users Guide for Instructions on setting up a default
  58.           menubar and creating/editing your own menubars. Clicking
  59.           on the Users Manual icon on the sample menubar displays
  60.           the text of the users manual. 
  61.  
  62.     5)    Although MENUBAR attempts to select a font for all screen
  63.           options, the text displayed may not be properly sized
  64.           depending on your available fonts. See the users manual
  65.           for instructions on changing font characteristics if
  66.           necessary.

  68. This disk contains the following files:

  70. menubar.exe    -    The MENUBAR program. 
  71. read.me        -    This file. 
  72. menubar.txt    -    User information (in ASCII text format).
  73. menubar.frm    -    Quick registration form. (or send MC/VISA via
  74.                     CIS).
  75. *.mbr        -    Sample menubar files.
  76. *.ico        -    Icons for sample menubars.

  78. The software described herein is furnished under a license  
  79. agreement. The software may be used or copied only in accordance
  80. with the terms of the applicable agreement. The purchaser may  
  81. make one copy of the software for backup purposes. Unregistered 
  82. copies of MENUBAR are for evaluation purposes only, and may be
  83. distributed through normal shareware channels.  Please distribute
  84. these evaluation copies to other bulletin boards and users.  
  85.   
  86. MENUBAR may be uploaded to and downloaded from commercial 
  87. systems such as CompuServe, the Source, and BIX, as long as there
  88. is no charge for the product itself.  Those copying, sharing, 
  89. and/or electronically transmitting this product are required not
  90. to delete or modify the copyright notice and restrictive notices
  91. from the program or documentation. Any distribution of MENUBAR 
  92. must include all files contained in the packed format. Commercial
  93. vendors and distributors of "public domain" or user-supported  
  94. software libraries may distribute copies of MENUBAR unless 
  95. notified by MRL to cease distribution of the product. Only  
  96. nominal fees associated with copying and handling (not to exceed
  97. $5 US) may be charged by anyone providing unregistered copies.  
  98. MENUBAR may not be utilized or distributed as a promotion for 
  99. any commercial venture.
